Washington D.C., Feb 22, 2013 / 02:05 am (CNA).- As the Feb. 28 resignation of Pope Benedict XVI approaches, the vast majority of U.S. Catholics have a favorable view of the pontiff, and the majority support traditional Catholic teaching as well.

Kristen McGuire‘s insight:

Well, yes – amid all the terrible things that most Catholics do suspect are true – to whom else shall we go Lord? So many people rejoice when the Church is brouht low, ashamed and confused. Yet, in my life, and in the lives of my fellow Catholics, we know far many more good and even saintly priests and religious who have touched our lives in countless ways. Pray for them in this season too – that they would persevere in faith.

About Kristen West Mcguire

I'm a wife and mom. Sometimes I work, and sometimes I homeschool and sometimes I just meddle, Although I worked at a military chapel for a few years and even taught CCD, most of my life I have been just a pew-sitting, kid-shushing Catholic mom. Since my conversion in 1992, I've been propositioned to join Opus Dei, Regnum Christi, the Neocatechumenal Way, Cum Christo (at least I think that is what Ultreya meant), and at least a few third orders, I just don't go for that extra stuff. I'm a Plain Jane Catholic.
